Hello everyone,
We are looking for innovative ideas for new games for Bitplay, users can reply with any interesting game they'd love to have at Bitplay.
The games you can suggest should pass the following criteria-

  • The game should not be real-time, so it can be implemented at the server side. This is to prevent the user from having access to the source, like javascript does.
  • It should be able to keep users interested and not be limited to one time gameplay.
  • Should not be related to adult/gambling, etc.:sm5:

Reply with a description of your game and an optional link, tho newbies are not allowed to post links, you can post it in plain text format. You are allowed to post detailed ideas/concepts which could make an interesting game.:sm12:

Users who suggest relevant and quality games/ideas will be rewarded with bonus coins.;)

In my opinion, You could improve Quest part in the arene so it could be more enjoyable. What I mean is:
Every quest could have steps to reach the boss, it could be like 50-100 steps to reach it. After each step you can refill hp... The progres should be saved of course. To reach the boss with very good reward you must have really good stats, or it could be depending on each player stats but not so easy to win... It would involve more ppl to the arena quest part I gues. Progres could be reset each month.
What do You think?

Hmm, yes, you're perhaps correct! :sm12:
You mean that old school fashioned rpg kinda levels,
this can definitely make quests much more interesting and sensible.
You do deserve at least a million coins for this suggestion. ;)

Fine, we'll pause any ongoing task and jump to this at once, give us ~2-3 days to do everything, meanwhile it'd be great if other users also suggest some tiny features/improvements that could act as an add-on to this concept.:)

Okay, well you deserve it for an extremely nice suggestion, take a look at your bank.;)
:sm29:

Edit:
We considered your idea, it could fit in properly with quests, but, there are still many things to consider and detail about. One thing, we were considering to build a unique rpg game exclusively for Bitplay and this structure more or less corresponds to that rpg's structure.
Quests by the name do suggest something smaller and upon second thought this concept seems to fit better if we have a unique rpg that resets every month and offers the users a unique variety of gameplay every time.:sm12:
That'd also give use more time to enrich the user's experience in that rpg.
I'd definitely like to have more views on this before proceeding further with details.

Edidzis, you're like a bad shadow creeping up from behind and overtaking me just at the last moment :P No matter where I go, lol.

My suggestion was going to be about the Quests as well. But I have a second suggestion which I'll add too.

QUESTS:

Right now, it's just click-click-click. Very mindless. Should be more engaging. Should be a "reason" for doing a Quest, no?
I think its great you have the different Universes for different Monsters. Lots of variety.
How about creating story-lined quests? I could help with the writing. And if we use the Universes already present, we have tonnes of potential plot-lines. Create some Fan-Fiction along the way.

Easier quest would be shorter and become longer at harder levels.

This can be really easy to do. Page by Page, the story gets told. Some pages do not have monsters to defeat, but random payout chests (solved by Captcha) or other tasks to do (still a simple click, but no s mindless anymore).

I like Edidzes suggestion about ability to save progress, refill HP and steps to get to the boss. So, these steps could be the story progressing from one scene to the next, building up to the final boss battle. Boss' can be really hard, taking time to defeat, as progress gets saved automatically, you could have the Boss' HP not refill (saved at last state), so if a player needs to, they can take multiple hacks at the Boss.

LOTTERY:
Simple, basic and everyone has a chance to win.
Could either be daily or weekly (since Arena is monthly, I think we need something with smaller payouts throughout the month, also for those who don't like the Arena).
The prize pool is simply 80% (or so) of all tickets bought. Each ticket has 5 numbers. On draw day, server draws lucky number and all who have said number on their tickets share in the prize pool.
Many MMORPGs use a lottery like this. Every so often, a special item or merchandise gets thrown in (Super Draw). Get some stickers made for your website. Sell them in Game Store and also as special prizes in giveaways. Of course, I mean this for the future, when you DO have your own merchandise ;)

Btw, seriously, the suggestions are nice but there's still a confusion between having an rpg or setting it up with the quests. I think it'd be better to just set it up in the quests and plot it accordingly as having an rpg could clash with the Arena. Okay, yup:P, I couldn't think something quick to make the quests more interesting, but if you guys are ready to help (of course for bonus coins), we can do this to the quests-
  • Setup a huge set of stories randomly picked up from for each quest. There are some random generators online which could help. ;)
  • What about the idea of stages in the quests, each consisting of a set amount of enemies and storyline so that we could have a framework and different set of story parts randomly chosen from for each stage.
  • The length of the quests, one quest max. daily is the minimum limit, the length could be increased to have weekly quests but that'd be more lengthy and boring. I think it'd be better to have user complete max. 1 quest a day having 2-6 stages as per difficulty and each stage having 25 enemies with a storyline every 4-5 defeated enemies?

AND PLEASE GUYS, do stop attacking just each other in the Arena.:D:sm15:

About the lottery, I'll see if it's okay with Adsense tos or not.:)

After hours of discussion, we finally arrived at the following points-
  • The quests have to be totally random, as much as possible, in order to keep the players interested. A page by page story will have a very heavy overhead as it'll be very tough to generate random lines for each section which match the overall storyline.
  • Having a more detailed boss system, complete storylines, etc. could lead to weeks of work to complete.
  • One point that can be considered is having a small random situation description at the beginning of each quest AND
  • Each quest could have a mystery bonus page where the player will have to complete a specific task in order to get bonus coins which could be very random, we have many interesting tasks in mind. ;)
  • The current structure in quests will be maintained as such, all these are add ons to make quests more interesting.

No, google doesn't allow lotteries as they count in gambling.

No RPG-style quests.

Yeah, I meant writing short bits that give an overall feel for being in the Universe. Written in such a way that it can be randomly used and still make sense in progressing through the quest.

"You open a hangar door and come face to face with a Rebel Wookie. His bowcaster gets jammed. Not missing a beat, you step forward to meet the challenge"

Yes!! A very loose, but over-arching storyline, that can be filled with random bits to feel like progression.

Different Stages...
For each of the Universes, we have 3 difficulties. Easy, Medium, Hard. Only difference right now is how many monsters we face, right?
Could there be 3 different "stories" with their own "random bits" it selects from?
We could create a Bitplay Star Wars Trilogy :woot:

Mystery Bonus page. I like the idea. Can't wait to see your new, interesting tasks.

Yes, absolutely. You don't want to go changing the whole quests structure. It should still be the same as it is now. Click-Click-Click. Just, a little more interesting.
Mind you, many people will probably not even bother reading the extra info or storylines. Some will continue to simply click mindlessly for BTC :P

You always want to keep it as simple as possible. No need to over-complicate.

That's too bad about the Lottery. Haha, in Australia, I see kids buy lottery tickets, but yeah, it is classed as gambling. Weird, lol.

Hmmm...I'll think some more on non-gambling games. We already have someone saying they like the Dot game. I do too. But the computer is too stupid for much of a challenge. I was thinking Chess, but it would take too long for a game to finish. Same with Checkers. I like Logic games. Clicking is easy, but I like to think before I click, hahaha

EDIT:

I've played many an MMORPG in my time. Stopped playing, because they take up too much time. They always get over-complicated with new additions and if you don't take part in the new stuff, you don't get the latest top gear and you end up dead even though you have higher stats than anyone else simply because you didn't get this or that special item.

That's why I like things to be simpler.

The idea for a Bitplay RPG Game sounds cool. But wouldn't that clash with the Arena? Or will it be two separate "websites"?
Would love to hear more about this too. Separate thread? :)

I'm not a graphics or web designer and I can't code anything except...well, anything.
But if you need something written, whether it be an official blurb, or bits of story, I can certainly help with that. My only problem is, I tend to write too much.
When still playing MMORPGs, I used to write Character Backgrounds (on request), Biographies and Introductions to Forum RP Threads (Set The Scene, Introduce Characters)  But they'd have to supply their own graphics, lol.

Yes, we can do with having small bits of random interesting stories in the quests. Just wait a bit more, we're doing some overall site maintenance and quests come after this important maintenance completes, probably today itself.

Yes, Google does have some white listed countries for gambling content and Australia is in them but that'll make Google categorise Bitplay as gambling related and lots of ....

Just wait a bit, quests'll be much more interesting soon.:sm8:

Btw, I just got a junior member tag.:sm23:

Edit:
Yes we had thought of an rpg but exactly as you said, it'd clash with the Arena.
Btw, if you are interested in Bitplay and the forum, you can ask for a moderator badge + privileges once you cross the Newbie.;)

I just edited my post, lol. Bit more information.

Lol, yeah, you don't want to be gambling related. You'll only get the riff-raff here then.
(Australia has a Gambling Disease, I tell you. They bombard these poor Aussies with ads about gambling being bad, seek help, don't play poker or slots, don't bet on horses, etc...then you turn your head and you're bombarded with play poker or slots, the horse race that stops the nation, or state, or town, or district...Very sad. Poor horses. They get called all kinds of things).

Admin, relax and take your time ;)
The site functions as it should. The improvements are not emergency fixes. Implement them as you see fit and when testing is complete.
It's good enough to see you active and engaging with the members.

Hey!! :sm11:
Congrats!!
Our Admin is no longer a Newbie :sm23:

I'm about halfway out of my Newbie phase, hehehe.
